The arts interdisciplinary focus provides students with the opportunity to further explore and develop their artistic and creative aptitudes.

Students may take courses in Instrumental Music (Concert or Jazz Band), String Orchestra, Guitar, Creative Writing, Photography, Visual Arts, Indigenous Art, Fashion, Interior Design, Film Production, Drama, and Music Theatre.

Students will develop grit, tenacity, perseverance, and resilience in the advancement of

technical skill, self-expression, and critical analysis of the context and cultural influences surrounding all forms of art.

To achieve balance in this SPARC focus, students will also take a variety of other courses such as Humanities, Sciences, Physical Education, and Technology.

How does this affect my timetable?

A SPARC entitles a student to reach ahead in their subject area of choice.  Typically, it means taking 2 courses in your favourite subject each school year.

Student voice is important to creating the timetable of your dreams.  Any extra elective courses will be chosen by the students based on interest.
